Kenny Loggins, Three Dog Night to play music cruise

A good meal, a bottle of wine and a serenade from Kenny Loggins?

That’s the formula for a new “Wine, Dine and Music” cruise planned for later this year.

Organized by California-based Flying Dutchman Travel, the seven-night voyage on Royal Caribbean’s Brilliance of the Seas will include performances by Loggins and several other musicians; cooking demonstrations from top chefs; and seminars and tastings from notable California winemakers.

In addition to Loggins, performers will include Three Dog Night, World Class Rockers, flutist Nestor Torres and emerging musicians Brandon and Leah.

Wineries with a presence on the trip will include California’s Truett-Hurst, Dutcher Crossing, Sapphire Hill, Two Amigos, Robert Young, Flora Springs and Rodney Strong.

Chefs on board will include John Ash, known for his Wine Country cuisine. Ash will host cooking demonstrations and offer a special menu in Brilliance of the Seas’ Chops Grille.

Each of the musical groups on the sailing will perform two live concerts in the ship’s Pacifica Theater, and there will be musical performances nightly in other venues.

Passengers also will receive a bottle of wine per cabin nightly and can take part in song writer workshops and question-and-answer sessions with the musicians.

The voyage kicks off Nov. 9 in Tampa and includes calls at Grand Cayman; Cozumel, Mexico; and Costa Maya, Mexico. Fares start at $1,099 per person, based on double occupancy.
