Always wanted to meet celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa? Here’s your chance: The famed restaurateur will be headlining a foodie cruise in July aboard the 940-passenger Crystal Symphony.
Luxury line Crystal says Matsuhisa will lead cooking demonstrations and mingle and take pictures with passengers starting on July 13 as the Symphony sails a 12-night Black Sea itinerary. He’ll also be making appearances at the ship’s Silk Road restaurant and Sushi Bar, which he designed in partnership with the line.
The sailing also will include two special Nobu-led “Omakase” dinners, with sake and sake champagne pairings chosen by sake master Fumio Hazu, the man behind an exclusive sake served at Matsuhisa’s Nobu eateries around the globe.

Matsuhisa’s trademark Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine has been served complimentary on Crystal’s two ships — the Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity — since 2003 and 2008, respectively. Matsuhisa personally trains the chefs and designs the menus for the ships’ Silk Road restaurants.
The 12-night “Bounties of the Black Sea” sailing kicks off in Civitavecchia, Italy (near Rome) and includes calls in Sorrento and Sicily, Italy; Constanta, Romania; Odessa (overnight) and Yalta, Ukraine; Sochi, Russia; and Istanbul, Turkey (overnight). Fares start at $5,510 per person, based on double occupancy, with $900 per person in savings if booked by Feb. 28.
