Saddling up: Jo is a fan of cowgirl breaks in Montana

Favourite place in the world?

I love Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos. My family and I stayed there within the first month of it opening, and fell in love with the island and all that the resort has to offer.

I also adore horses and each summer I spend a week riding in Montana at a ranch called Mountain Sky. I love the sense of freedom and it’s fun being a cowboy for a moment!

Who is your ideal travelling companion?

Miranda Hart, who makes me laugh, and Diane Fossey – so that I can learn more about her love of animals and nature.

A holiday read?

The Hundred Foot Journey, by Richard C Morais. It’s the story of a man who needs to return to his roots to find true fulfillment through cooking.

What do you never travel without?

MS teabags, my Babyliss Big Hair hairdryer and a few bottles of my JO LOVES Pomelo.

Favourite restaurant?

A tiny brasserie which overlooks the flower market in the French village of Grasse.

Strangest dish you’ve had on your travels?

I went to China and was served baby chicken heads and feet that you had to suck. I declared myself a vegetarian for the rest of the trip.

Favourite city?

New York. I lived there for a year and it still feels like my second home.

The first JO LOVES store will be open this autumn at 42 Elizabeth Street, London SW1W 9NZ.
